Perfect for the festive season, our Cabernet Six Pack includes two bottles of each; Barrel 2015, Ripasso 2016 and Amphora 2017. One of each wine are wrapped and ready to gift.
These three wines are produced from the same varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Field blended in a 60/40 ratio, with spontaneous fermentations and minimal intervention, the differences are a direct result of the winemaking process creating three distinctly different styles of wine.
Barrel 2015 has been aged in old french oak for two years. With softened tannins, yet retained fruit flavours this wine is for those who love a big red.
Ripasso 2016 is the unique result of re-fermenting our field-blended red wine on the warm pressings of our Black Pearl. Still rich in sugars from the grape-drying process, these pressings cause the wine to undergo a second fermentation, increasing the flavour, richness and complexity of our classic red wine.
Amphora 2017 Our terracotta amphoras provide excellent thermal insulation, ensuring gentle temperature changes during fermentation. The vessels’ natural porosity allows a benign passage of oxygen for optimal maturation of this wine, creating a special type of freshness.
